The ARHA Kirk Kirkland Memorial Scholarship, now co-branded with the National Restaurant Association Educational Foundation (NRAEF) scholarships, annually provides Alabama students with the opportunity to further their education in the restaurant and lodging industry. 

​Eligibility Requirements:
  • Applicant must be interested in, or taking courses in the field of hospitality, culinary or food service management and accepted into a two or four year Alabama post-secondary school.
  • Must maintain an overall Grade Point Average of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale. GPA must be established at time of application and a transcript is required as part of the application.
  • Leadership demonstrated in both on and off campus activities.
  • Student must be an Alabama resident. 

How to Apply:

Application Deadline: March 31, 2024

  • Complete online application form. 
  • Copy of transcript from most recent school with established GPA at time of application
  • Must include a letter of recommendation (one from a teacher/instructor/personal reference and one from an industry employer if possible)
  • Letter of acceptance from school  (unless currently enrolled)

Additional Details:
Awards range in value up to $2,000. Scholarship monies will be mailed directly to the institution of higher education once awards have been announced.
